AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.), a scholarly session titled “Imam Sadiq (a.s.) and His Role in Confronting the Challenges of His Time” was held in Arabic at the conference hall of ABNA News Agency in the city of Qom.
Hojat al-Islam Dr. Amin Jamie’i, an expert in Islamic philosophy, and Dr. Ahmad Nazem, an expert in Islamic history, delivered their speeches during the session, and discussed various dimensions of Imam Sadiq’s (a.s.) role in addressing the challenges of his era.
In his remarks, Dr. Ahmad Nazem pointed to the most significant challenges of Imam Sadiq’s (a.s.) time and explained how the Imam (a.s.) dealt with them. He also examined the turning points in the lives of Shiite communities during the Imam’s era and elaborated on his leadership amid the difficult conditions under the oppressive Abbasid rule.
In another part of the session, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Amin Jamie’i highlighted the significant intellectual and personal aspects of Imam Sadiq (a.s.), stressing that the Imam (a.s.) played a unique role in Shiite society by nurturing faithful cadres and shaping authentic Islamic personalities. These individuals went on to leave a profound impact on the Shiite community.
At the conclusion of the session, attendees posed questions to the two distinguished scholars about Imam Sadiq’s (a.s.) role during the transitional period from the Umayyad rule to the Abbasid era, an era recognized as a critical turning point in the history of the Islamic nation, especially the Shiite society.
The ABNA News Agency organized the session with the aim of clarifying the scholarly and revolutionary path of Imam Sadiq (a.s.) in confronting the intellectual, political, and social challenges of his time.
